Tuesday turned out not to be a long, long day — everything at the doctor’s office and the hospital went much smoother and faster so I got home about 3:00 instead of nearly 5:00 for a change.
Other than the hand-foot syndrome and usual fatigue, mouth/throat tenderness, the only problem I’ve had from chemo this week was that my blood pressure went way back down again. I went back to taking just half of a Tenormin and checking my BP to be sure it didn’t drop too low. Yesterday I spent most of the day in bed, too tired and sleepy to really get up and do anything. My BP was pretty low which probably accounts for most of it but if I don’t take at least half of a Tenormin, my pulse rate is way too high and I feel worse. Today is a little better and I’ve been able to be out of bed more.
About the hand-foot thing – Wednesday even before I got home from the hospital (where I went for the Neulasta shot) my hands began to peel, mainly the palms of my thumbs. Both feet seem to be okay with no further peeling, just a little red. This hand peeling is weird looking but doesn’t interfere with much, it’s just a little bit tender.
Only two more chemotherapy sessions to go (6/21 is the next one) which will be a big relief. I go back to Dr. Sonfield (surgeon) on June 15th for a FU and discussion of future surgery. I would prefer not to have a mastectomy, only removal of any remaining tumor and lymph nodes. Dr. Bajaj had said that might be a possibility but it will be up to Dr. Sonfield. Dr. Bajaj examined me again Tuesday and once again can find no sign of any tumor or lymph node swelling, which is a very good thing. My left arm still has lymphedema (swelling), however. I guess we’ll see. Still need continued prayer that any remaining cancer cells will “shrink, shrivel, die and disappear from my body,” and that the lymph system will work as it should work!

We are standing in agreement with you! He is Mighty to Save!
